happy news with sugar on top

i just got the news that my mom's book has been published! yayyyy! i'm really happy for my mom, she did it again!

i wonder how it really turned out. the thing is; we are living in separate cities. i don't want her to be bothered with sending some copies via cargo. she could have sent me some photos if she had a digital camera, but she doesn't!! i am sooo curious. she says the cover, the inner drawings, the paper, the print are really nice and she is very satisfied with everything, but you know how moms are... i think i'll have to wait until the publisher sends some copies to the bookstores here in my city (did i say my city? let's say 'the city i live in'.) pleeease mr. publisher, send them quick!! oh, and i'll link when it is on the internet, too.

please buy a copy if you have access to it. you know how it looks;) don't forget to comment here. my mom and i will be super happy. oh, and they give a bonus bookmark with it, too. yippi!

it's not a rose garden. wait a minute, it is!!

agggg!!! right now i'm in the middle of animating bobo just for a new entry, and look what's up!!

now how in the galaxy could that happen??? i'm so angry. just as you start rolling just smoothly, happily doing your animation and stuff, suddenly some mysterious power messes it all up! i was really happy to leave the technical setup behind; it was just me and the joy of animating... then, the technical setup comes back to haunt you.

ok, it will probably take me less time to fix this than rant about it, but i just wanted to say that ev.e.ry sin.g.le ti.me! something has to go wrong. grrr.

here's some explanation for the non-animation, non-design people: my character has lost the ability to move as i told her to!! she bends and twists rather weirdly. and i really don't know why!

see you after i fix this...

why is this turtle looking at me?

here's a snapshot of my soon-to-be website. the content is ready, everything is working but i need to rent some hosting and domain name. of course if i can escape my infamous laziness. by the way, that might not be necessary, since i already have a hosting service by blogger, right? hmmm.

today i was really happy to see some of the ladies and gentlemen (to whom i had to show how to set a fire online) doing really good jobs (their final work, actually). it is nice to see your point is taken:) now i really need to rest a little bit.

i really needed that cheering up. i sometimes want to bury my head in the pillow and stay like that forever.

by the way, i really wonder how these images are selected to be clickable or unclickable by blogger. grrr.

for clearer vision...

oh and not to forget a screenshot for the kid.

careful with the sand, kiddo!

here it is! a test animation for my beloved beach party ... poor bobo seems to lick the shovel, making it look like ice-cream. so, intead of demonstrating how much she enjoys playing with her toys and sand, she seems to love the delicious treat. hehe.

i thought i'd never be able to start this film. i hope you like the small test. we'll have more tests for sure;) please send me your opinions as things progress.

totally irrelevant inspiration

new year is long since out of fashion, even though we are still in the lovely(!!) month of january. can you believe how quickly you forgot about it? yeah, the party is over and we have a lot of work to do, right?

but i know there are those of you who still couldn't let go of the new year decorations. well, guess who is one of them? moi, of course! i like seeing the remnants of a night of boozing, boozing and doing silly things.

check out the abstract new year's tree! (christmas tree for those who celebrate christmas). the ingredients are simple: one (1) modern-looking lamp (the more worn out, the better) and one (1) party light (be careful with the length). hehe i might use it as an installation, too.

so we can align them left, too!

blogger sometimes drives me crazy. or it is me that drives me crazy, because i just can't do things. things that should be piece of a cake. (cake, mmm!) if you have any idea how to snap my header to the top, could you pleaaase share with me?

with that said, it is now time to meet the bookmark (here's the book). i told you that would happen sooner or later. what are your opinions? i finally came over the guilt and the laziness. and it only took me twenty minutes or something. i wish i didn't turn my mother down in the first place, it really wasn't worth disapponting her. do you too sometimes feel unnecessarily incapable?

yesterday i went to a meeting that went really well. i have this 'no job talk' policy in my blog, because one: i could easily violate some laws or business rules. two: it is boring. and three: this is a no-stress zone!! but i just wanted to share that i feel good about this meeting.

p.s.: don't make loved ones sad!

one piece of discovery, one piece of guilt

i recently found out about harvie krumpet, a sad yet interesting short by adam elliot. just wanted to share. his new feature film, mary & max will be around sometime. i'm sure the guy doesn't need my advertisement, but i always get extra excited with clay animation-so can't help myself.

makes me want to grab some clay;)

my mother asked me to design a bookmark (i'm not sure if this is the right word) for her. i had to turn her down because i was super busy at the time. now i'm sorry i did that; and i'll try to suprise her with the said bookmark as soon as possible. of course you won't be able to avoid seeing it, because i shall put it right here immediately!!!

i didn't forget about the origami dog, the biomimicry and the animated short stuff, but everything one step at a time, right? keep checking, please.

oh, and this 'guess where?' thing with photos seems quite fun. hehe.

some shadow wouldn't hurt

travelling is one of the most exciting things for me, but sometimes it gets so boring i just want to be teleported. i know, i know; it's not the destination, it's the journey, bla bla bla... but you have to be preeeetty imaginative to enjoy your seven millionth trip to the same place.

here you go, meet the origami dog! (remember her?) she is made out of craft paper. she tries to be sensitive to the environment, but somehow screws up every time. she's not moving yet, but she will in a short while;)

are you ready origami?
good girl.

hehe another quickie before i hit the road. i will be away for a couple of days but most probably will post while i'm there.

let's see some color, right? enough with the b/w stuff. ok, you couldn't guess where the last photo was, but can you this time? hint: we've been here together with some people who mighhhht be reading:P

textures, colors! do you have a weakness for them too?

p.s: comments are finally enabled, i guess;)

terry towel

it has been a really loooong new year for me:) i am still trying to get used to the idea...

i would like to introduce some of my designs little by little. now, does this one count as 'industrial design'? i don't think so. anyway, this is for a terry towel series that i did, one of my favorites. of course, it is copyrighted stuff. we'll see how it works out:

i hope you like it and i hope the 'click to see full view' button works this time. (tried, and it doesn't:P) it was inspired by mosaics. it was enjoyable and -kind of- crazy to do it. i didn't want it to look very automatized, so i ended up copying every single 'tile' one by one... what do you think? do you also work on some decorative stuff?
