happy new year to you all! i wish you a year full of beauty and inspiration!

hehe if there are any readers left, that is... i feel guilty, like i have abandoned my child or something. but every day is a fresh start, no? the good thing is, i have accumulated some stuff i would like to post. the bad thing is, you may find them totally irrelevant :) ahh, focus, focus!

this blog is officially older than one and happy new year!

hehe. normally, i should've celebrated my blog's birthday 27 days ago, but being the reckless person i am, i didn't even notice. so what happened in the 392 days that this blog has been on?:

-i'm not sure about how many people are reading my babblings. i think there is a way of accessing that data; if only i knew how to...

-the number of my commenters are significantly more obvious: 1! thank you, i will never forget this. you make me think that at least one person cares:) oh, wait a minute. way back early, there was someone else that commented, too. i thank her/him, but s/he technically disappeared later on.

-how many jobs have been finished since the opening of my blog-in other words, does this blog help me realize projects? a book cover and bookmark, a stop-motion workshop and its outcome as short film, thosands of lessons (do they count?), a set of web icons, a documentary for national tv (teamwork and not yet out), my own portfolio and business card, various illustrations for shutterstock, couple of flash animations, lots of photos...

-how many jobs are still incomplete? a lamp, a shopping bag, a 3d animated short... all the big stuff, actually. hmm. not good. but let's look forward, shall we? or i'll be really pissed at myself. grrr.

-i have travelled to canada and back, to two holiday destinations, various places at the countryside, my hometown and a small unrealistic city. gotta travel more!

-grumbling here has been really fun, although at times i feel like i'm talking to myself. but blogging kind of is that, i guess.

-i forgot to remake my blog.

-i forgot to add a great blogroll to the side:(

-i would like to get more traffic, but i don't want to sound needy promoting my blog. it is not commercial after all.

anyway, happy new year to you all:) have a great great time! i'll be out of town yet again. who knows what i'll be up to?

totally irrelevant inspiration

new year is long since out of fashion, even though we are still in the lovely(!!) month of january. can you believe how quickly you forgot about it? yeah, the party is over and we have a lot of work to do, right?

but i know there are those of you who still couldn't let go of the new year decorations. well, guess who is one of them? moi, of course! i like seeing the remnants of a night of boozing, boozing and doing silly things.

check out the abstract new year's tree! (christmas tree for those who celebrate christmas). the ingredients are simple: one (1) modern-looking lamp (the more worn out, the better) and one (1) party light (be careful with the length). hehe i might use it as an installation, too.

terry towel

it has been a really loooong new year for me:) i am still trying to get used to the idea...

i would like to introduce some of my designs little by little. now, does this one count as 'industrial design'? i don't think so. anyway, this is for a terry towel series that i did, one of my favorites. of course, it is copyrighted stuff. we'll see how it works out:

i hope you like it and i hope the 'click to see full view' button works this time. (tried, and it doesn't:P) it was inspired by mosaics. it was enjoyable and -kind of- crazy to do it. i didn't want it to look very automatized, so i ended up copying every single 'tile' one by one... what do you think? do you also work on some decorative stuff?

delayed

i just have had this in mind for several days. ok, here it goes: last friday i attended a really great presentation by ozgur tasar (i'm leaving the special characters out just in case). he talked about innovation in design, how it is handled at the company he works, and what is coming up regarding design in the future.

what he talked about really reminded why i became an industrial designer. i was really happy to listen to him. i couldn't talk to him afterwards, but i would like to say that he really did amazing things in his journey.

*happy new year to everyone around the world! drink irresponsibly;)*
