see how scary i am at night

i don't feel i am ready to finish the short month of february yet. even though i am a big fan of warm, sunny weather and long hours of daylight (you may have already guessed that i live on the northern hemisphere), i get this sense of incompleteness. can i do some catching up before we proceed to the next months? no?

well my friend's favorite owl turns out to be this little fella. i have come to like him more after i've painted him. he seems to be about to cry, doesn't he? stupid animal. i'm sending him right away to her too. i'm really excited. what will she and her hubby think? what do you think? soooo excited to hear from you;)by the way, as i promised, i have been searching the blogosphere for design blogs aaaall over the world. found some pretty interesting ones, too, but i want to get into these more personal blogs. i need to do some deeper digging to find them i guess. can you offer me some of the ones you know and like? i would like to add a nice blogroll to the side and start visiting! oh and don't you sometimes find some other girl's/guy's blog wayyyy too cool it hurts? hehe;)

conflict

the thing that causes me to delay my posting about industrial design stuff is that, -you know- you actually cannot talk about your projects until after they have been produced and released, and some kind of copyright protection has been arranged. even if you are designing for no apparent company or immediate financial expectation, the project still and always has the potential to be marketed. how do other industrial design bloggers overcome this problem? can they feel confident sharing sketches, mock-ups, models, 3d's, or even prototypes as they progress? i really want to share some of the progress i have been making about some projects, but i'm not sure if i may ruin the whole thing. on the other hand, i don't feel the same pressure when sharing my characters or animations, or future illustrations. why so? hmm. i need to check the other designers' view of sharing details of independent projects.

what do you think about this? do you keep your independent industrial design projects top secret until after you launch them, or do you spill at least part of the project? i really need some feedback on this...

first thing you see when you wake up

lets all see some work-work:) one of my friends is expecting a baby and she has this crazy baby mobile project: pretty adorable, isn't? this baby is such a lucky one little fella. s/he'll have so much fun growing up! and i didn't even know this thing is called 'baby mobile'. anyway, my friend asked me to send in my version of the owl, and i drew some sketches, actually quite a few of them. this one's my favorite.

what do you think about the poor guy? hehe. i've sent him and the other options to her, i hope she likes and chooses one of them! of course a colored version will be due after that.

p.s.: yes, of course i get permission before i post anything that's not made by me. every time.

las escaleras

ok let's cheer things up a little.

here's a tough one: can you guess where this photo was taken? hint: it's the same city where the last photo was.
i probably will be away for about one week starting from monday. i'll catch up when i come back. more promises to keep, right? until then, take care and have a nice weekend everybody!

p.s.: my mother contacted the publisher and it's still not clear if they are going to republish the book. for free of course. we'll see that later. ok i'm stopping now because i feel the anger creeping. grrrr.

disappointment

my mother's book is now laying on my table. with all its glory.

now what on earth is that color? can somebody explain to me? if the color of the bookmark is right, and the book is 'of the same line' with the bookmark, what kind of a publisher can make such a mistake? how can they think i used this disgusting raw pink as a main cover design color? 'hmm, the color of the book and the bookmark are so different; can that be a problem? naah. forget it.'

i'm pissed off. terribly.

rhythm is a dancer

i always confuse the spelling of 'rhythm'. i had to check the dictionary while adding to the title. it has way too many consonants. (hehe i had to look up 'consonant' too. but i got it right:)

alright, the one and onlyyyyyy bobo!

she is dancing the stupidest dance to the stupidest music! what do you think? i really appreciate any comments.

i wonder what turns out when i add some background. someday i will try some mimics and hair movement, too. when? not before i get involved in some industrial design. let's not forget our roots, right?

one more thing: i couldn't overcome my curiosity, so asked my mom to send a copy of her book and the bookmark. shame on me:) i will send you some photos when i get them.

a sudden realization

it is a good idea to look at what your work at diffrerent monitors, with different programs. now i realize that my header is wayyyyy misplaced when looking via firefox!! and i thought the small gap between it and the top of the page via explorer was annoying!!!

ok, i have to ask you firefox users to pleeease switch to explorer for a short while when checking my blog. this time i really need expert help, and i know how to get it!

the colors, too, seem very phosphorescent through a different monitor. i can't pick which one would be the correct monitor setting, mine or the one i'm using right now? anyone have the same trouble?

ahh and one more thing, sorry for the delay in bobo's animations, but i really needed to do some show-off stuff (not involving my work, so i can't put images without permission, sorry:) and it took me waaayy more time than i guessed. the animations will be coming soon.
