i'm not sure i am crazy about the new blogger interface. the 'in your face' attitude with the pageview counts etc. is kind of driving me nuts. and why can't i see the blog itself in a separate window? grrr.
buuut i hope you will like my new blog interface! yep, finalmente! i have already set up an under construction page at www.merictaylan.com. i simply wasn't ready to do these changes all this time. but you know what? i think i'll never be ready. there will always be 'other' stuff to take care of. so this will be quite a real-time blog and website makeover combo for me :) hehe. i think i could even turn this into kind of a game. some things won't work for a while, my portfolio will be lacking a lot of stuff. awkward buttons will pop up and disappear.
i hope you will not get frustrated with the constant format changes in the process. i have a private test blog to test the new design, but i think i will put it up before it is finished. raw. crude. squeaky.
as always, any feedback is good feedback for me, so please do comment :)

getting there
i become horrified as i notice that it has been around 9 months since my announcement of a new look and feel and everything for my website! man, am i slow... i totally need a makeover. i hope to be able to put all the new stuff online -both designs and animations- asap. that means asap, self!

progressive

yeah, if i am willing to combine my portfolio with my website, shouldn't i be sounding more... professional anytime soon? what do you think about that? are you keeping business with personal babblings separate? that's a tricky one, because designing is ultra-personal for me. how can i be all cooled-and-professionaled-up about that? i think that's a whoooole separate entry in itself. hmm.
i hope the coding part of my soon-to-be-website-blog will be easy. the visuals are almost done. time to hit the keyboard!!!

watch your step

so meric, you haven't been talking about your projects in a while. yeah, i know. i actually made a lot of progress in most of them (mainly on the bag and the website), but they both are in a state where showing what is going on is meaningless right now. there are bits and pieces all over. but i'm getting there. and believe me, the world is full of crazy textiles! (the bag front). so thin, yet so strong...as for my animation project, i haven't forgotten that a tiny bit, either. i'll come back to it in a while. but first things first. i've suffered from too much multitasking before, so i'm watching my portions with that. that's what i am, a chronic multitasker. anybody taking too much on their plate as well?

hidden gems

besides being depressed over the fact that summer is ending, i have been quite busy dealing with my website. new sketches, new layouts... i know, i know! i'm too slow. i will never get anything done. at least in this life.

zona prohibida

the website is progressing, though not as fast as i want it to. you know i constantly have the famous freelancer's dilemma of trying to motivate myself when nobody wants anything from me yet. but when i don't come up with new things to offer, nobody will want anything from me anyway. it's a snake trying to eat its own tail. i have to make him spit it out! the dilemma might not be famous at all.

honey rocks

this is one lovely spot in nature. it is called ballikayalar. i'm not giving a google map link, because i am lazy. the trail between the hills was quite enjoyable. we had to da a lot of jumping over rocks and dangerous waters:)

enough
i'm really fed up with all the 2d stuff i've been doing! i want to do 3d stuff. like real models, objects, revolving in the 3d space. don't get me wrong, i love doing 2d drawings. the last job i did for a website was really a blast (i promise to give links when it's out). but i miss modelling, texturing, rendering and for the most important part, designing things that will be real objects.
do you get fed up with whatever you are doing sometimes? do you feel like 'oh but i should be doing this (whatever you like most) instead!' am i the only one? am i?
hehe this is the stuff that has been keeping me busy lately. i feel the same with the girl.

www.merictaylan.com :)) finally!
i finally managed to publish my website after much huffing and puffing:) www.merictaylan.com! there is still much work to do; the english version is still due, i want it to open up in a separate window instead of these interesting proportions, and to make navigation easier... whatever! i have a website:)) hehe you might guess how the blog's appearance will change accordingly... i'm happy to announce this;)
i hope you like the website and the work inside. tell me your opinions! i know, i know. i shouldn't have announced before i fixed everything, but i can't help myself. i am a constant work in progress:P

why is this turtle looking at me?
here's a snapshot of my soon-to-be website. the content is ready, everything is working but i need to rent some hosting and domain name. of course if i can escape my infamous laziness. by the way, that might not be necessary, since i already have a hosting service by blogger, right? hmmm.
today i was really happy to see some of the ladies and gentlemen (to whom i had to show how to set a fire online) doing really good jobs (their final work, actually). it is nice to see your point is taken:) now i really need to rest a little bit.
i really needed that cheering up. i sometimes want to bury my head in the pillow and stay like that forever.
by the way, i really wonder how these images are selected to be clickable or unclickable by blogger. grrr.
