resume

some interesting emergencies come up. they always do. and interrupt life. i have just resumed normal activity, and there is a huge pile of... life waiting for me to take care of them!

the professional sample did not happen. mine was far more professional than the one i got from the tailor. it was a huge disappointment (sorry, so bad that i can't even upload photos). i didn't discuss the matter too much with them, took my sample home and decided to... do it by myself!!! as usual. actually, i was expecting things would turn out this way, but hoping i would prove wrong...

one note on the positive side: my dear friend brought me lots of samples of shopping bags. a biiig thank you! i think mine is still the cutest;)

so i guess this means even more sewing machine time for me!

concrete

don't let your self-confidence shake near electronic devices (edit: terrible grammar!!). they sense it immediately and bam! your work becomes a mess. i am at the very last turn with my dear shopping bag project. just a few more alterations, and i'm done. then, suddenly, i have doubt in my mind.

meric-'should i sew this a little slower, so that i've got more control over the stitches; so that i am less likely to make a mistake?'
sewing machine-'a-ha! did she say mistake? i sense weakness. hahaha!' and then the guy completely destroys my hours long work in a split second. folds of fabric on top of each other, ten thousand stitches on the same point, threads sticking out from everywhere.

do you feel that too? when you have the tiniest bit of self-doubt, does it all go wrong suddenly?

misfit

once again it is time to make fun of my sewing skills. my shopping bag is here. believe it or not, it does carry quite heavy loads, considering it is only thick as a veil. and believe it or not, it does not fit in the pocket on the right. which it should, actually.

i will also make the bag two colored as in the previous presentations. i was quite surprised by the strength of the material, but also disappointed with the amount of space it takes. hm.. such is life. keep on trying, not?

the machine which you can partially see on the further right is, of course, the same guy mentioned looong before here. we still have a loving relationship, in spite of all his insistent attempts to consume my clothing.

it's not a sewing machine commercial, either

these days you can't take a photo of an object without getting the logo in the viewer. so, this guy is the crazy machine that helps me to and sometimes prevents me from sewing my stuff! hehe, you might say 'what is so fancy about this thing? it's an ordinary sewing machine, that's it!' no, it's not. never in my life would i imagine to have one of these, much less use one. and i don't plan to sew my own trousers in the near future.

i must warn you, though. the guy sometimes eats fabric... lots of it.

home sewing is killing fashion

hehe. since i need to prototype my shopping bag, i learned how to use a sewing machine. quite an amazing (and over-complicated) gadget. there was no way i could 'install' the string all by myself. i'm excited!! i already started sewing scrap clothes together. beware, i might sew you, too...

i really have no idea how to have my design produced, but that is a whole other story.
