not another entry on snow

what to do on a snowy wednesday? we built a snow lady (sorry, no photos). actually, we found a ready-made snow man (with eyes, scarf and all) and made it into a snow lady. she is really a hottie. we had some serious protests while adding the tits (why don't you protest when people are building a snow man, you hypocrites?). hehe. vandalism.

here, a good book for the snowy days to read with the company of hot chocolate: smilla's sense of snow:) why the wikipedia people changed the name, will always be a mystery for me. anyway, in the book our heroine (as far as i remember) talks about all different kinds of snow. today the snow here was really a good kind. fresh. easy to form snowballs. doesn't get flaky. doesn't soak woolen gloves too soon. glides easily and speedily in the air-although that might be more the quality of the thrower than the snow:D

deep frozen info

i've been reading this really nice book from rudolf arnheim, 'visual thinking'. apart from the disgusting cover (i had to stick my own cover to stand looking at the book), which is shameful for such a title, the book is fantastic! reminds me of the 'perception' lessons i took at undergraduate school. the book basically theorizes that thinking itself is visual, and the role of visual thinking has so long been underestimated. the book was written around the 1950's, but the concepts in it are still fresh and just mmm! yummy:) (hey, what kind of a book review is this?) perception, symbolism, fragmantation, signs... everybody joins the party!

is it possible to get your brain fried sitting in the 40+ degree heat?

insert book

remember my mom's book, which i designed the cover for, and which has turned out to be... a little... surprising, let's say? it has been on a national newspaper's book insert last thursday. this time they got the color right. strange... i hope that can get her tons of sales:)

life has been quite hectic these days. it seems to me that more chaos is due. a little thinking time and a good cup of coffee is what i need right now. mmm. cozying up with a cup of nice hot coffee. i would have liked to mention a blanket, too, but that would make me sound... damn, i already did mention it:P

disappointment

my mother's book is now laying on my table. with all its glory.

now what on earth is that color? can somebody explain to me? if the color of the bookmark is right, and the book is 'of the same line' with the bookmark, what kind of a publisher can make such a mistake? how can they think i used this disgusting raw pink as a main cover design color? 'hmm, the color of the book and the bookmark are so different; can that be a problem? naah. forget it.'

i'm pissed off. terribly.

rhythm is a dancer

i always confuse the spelling of 'rhythm'. i had to check the dictionary while adding to the title. it has way too many consonants. (hehe i had to look up 'consonant' too. but i got it right:)

alright, the one and onlyyyyyy bobo!

she is dancing the stupidest dance to the stupidest music! what do you think? i really appreciate any comments.

i wonder what turns out when i add some background. someday i will try some mimics and hair movement, too. when? not before i get involved in some industrial design. let's not forget our roots, right?

one more thing: i couldn't overcome my curiosity, so asked my mom to send a copy of her book and the bookmark. shame on me:) i will send you some photos when i get them.

happy news with sugar on top

i just got the news that my mom's book has been published! yayyyy! i'm really happy for my mom, she did it again!

i wonder how it really turned out. the thing is; we are living in separate cities. i don't want her to be bothered with sending some copies via cargo. she could have sent me some photos if she had a digital camera, but she doesn't!! i am sooo curious. she says the cover, the inner drawings, the paper, the print are really nice and she is very satisfied with everything, but you know how moms are... i think i'll have to wait until the publisher sends some copies to the bookstores here in my city (did i say my city? let's say 'the city i live in'.) pleeease mr. publisher, send them quick!! oh, and i'll link when it is on the internet, too.

please buy a copy if you have access to it. you know how it looks;) don't forget to comment here. my mom and i will be super happy. oh, and they give a bonus bookmark with it, too. yippi!

excited? just wait!

aaahh! i want to share something which i made couple of days ago. the thing is, it is kind of a surprise for someone, so before the surprise is revealed, i cannot share it yet... but i'm so impatient!

instead, i would like to leave you with this lady here:

you cannot guess why i even made this! ok, i needed to explain some ladies and gentlemen how to set a fire online; so i ended up clean, without any loss or damages to property:)

one more thing: they are going to test-publish my mother's book next week-so wish me luck! hope everything goes just fine.

this video is streaming kind of weird. hmmm. any idea how to fix playback issues?

a good reason to be a bookworm

lately i had to do some serious learning, so i couldn't exactly find time to blog... don't you love it when learning computer programs takes all of your time? anyway, i was going to tell you why i needed to do a kaleidoscope research: well, because my mother (sorry for the lack of english text in the link) wrote another book called 'kaleidoscope'. i am really proud of her, and happy to be able to contribute her in the tiniest way. her book insiped me for some other stuff. here is what it will look like (this will be wrapped from the front to the back):

i hope you like it, and i hope there will be no problems during publishing. i also designed her other book a couple of years ago. i try to keep them somehow in the same format, so that in the end she has a 'series' of books which look familiar when put together:)

hehe maybe i can come up with some stuff related to this 'new learning' of mine... anyway, don't forget to enjoy the weather-whichever hemisphere you are on!
