there is more than meets the eye

a few days ago i bought some binoculars. some really fancy, small ones. ok, i hate to do free commercials, but they are these ones:
how cool they are!! i tried some other binoculars, but the view they provided were rubbish. these guys at 8x21, really show you everything:) and by everything, i mean birds, of course.

have you tried any binoculars? pretty fun, aren't they?

dress code

when i work full-time, i envy freelancers. when i work freelance, i used to envy 'full-timers'. i think not any more. of course, i don't want to offend anyone, and i cannot say %100 that freelancing is my future from now on, but... i think it's my future from now on:)

with all its depressive moods, loneliness and not being able to self-motivate, with all its panic attacks (oh my, i will never be able to get a new job. i'm doomed forever.) with all its guilty feelings (nooo i'm not making enough money! -enough money for what?), with all the sloppiness that comes along with freelancing (honey, are you wearing pajamas again?), with all its social insecurities, i think it will be my way. i think i'm addicted to freedom, however great a price it comes at. did i just write that?

displaced

a student of mine asked about displacement maps, and i was really glad he did. doing them is really easy, and i had a blast exploring the possibilities. yeah, i know, a little too technical stuff. but i really loved the effect! you can get rid of a lot of modelling by the use of maps. you can also create pretty random-looking terrains. love solving cg puzzles!

pink rabbit

today i met a philosopher, anat biletzki, thanks to a colleague who is shooting a documentary about ioanna kucuradi. she has some wonderful things to say. i am attending a conference by her in a couple of hours. let me finish this entry after that.

edit: i did go to the conference. her talk was really illuminating about palestine and gaza and what is going on there.

fire me up

why, oh why do i have only three followers? and why, oh why nobody writes any comments to my posts? dear readers, if you do read my blog, please do follow! maybe you are angry that i didn't keep my promise that i would post my videos. or maybe you are fed up with my endless complaints:)

today i saw a dragon on a friend's tee-shirt. so i got jealous and had to have one of my own. so here you go. we like dragons. yeah, i know. they don't exist. but you can't deny that this fella exists, can you?

need to have some courage

i will have to take one more step to the unknown. i have already decided what to do next. there is only a time that needs to pass until then. after that, i will have to face the harshness of freedom. freedom comes in such a high price, doesn't it?

escapar

when i have the time, i don't have the images. and when i have the images, i don't have the time. so this is yet another imageless entry. it is actually very rainy these days, which is quite unlikely for the season. so i don't particularly feel very high-spirited.

this is one of those days when you feel lonely but don't get to reach any of your friends, your skirt gets soaked but you can't get to dry it all day, you forget your keys but your roommate doesn't show up with spare ones and you kind of hate everyone but you end up being the most hate-worthy of all. those little things that make the difference.
